Psychotherapy Commission

What is the ACPE Psychotherapy Commission?

The Psychotherapy Commission represents a community of people who are invested in the practice of integrating spirituality into the work they are doing.  This focus on spirituality may be connected to the work done by a volunteer helper, a spiritual healer, or a licensed mental health practitioner.  We offer training for all types of helpers with attention to the ethical standards required within those communities.  To help connect practitioners with one another, we also initiate gatherings that are identified as Communities of Practice as well as webinars and conferences expected in professional and volunteer helping fields.

Current Psychotherapy Commission goals are intended to build on work that we have accomplished over the past few years since the American Association of Pastoral Counselors merged with ACPE in 2019.

Our hope is to invite new members to our Communities of Practice and meet the needs of spiritually integrated practitioners who live in many different global areas.

We serve on a volunteer basis to provide training, education, and consultation that is steeped in authenticity, genuine care, and compassion that is needed in a hurting world.

You can expect to see the fruit of our monthly meeting minutes posted here with an open invitation for you to join our work in sharing the practice of spiritual integration for licensed and non-licensed caregivers.
