Spiritually Integrated Training


There are two types of training available through the ACPE Psychotherapy Commission:

Pastoral Care Specialist (PCS) - soon to be Spiritual Care Specialist (SCS)

  • 48 hour training with mental health content for pastoral, voluntary, nursing, traditional, or faith-based healers
  • comprehensive and culturally sensitive
  • ascribes to ethical competencies
  • invitational to wide variety of religious and spiritual belief systems
  • no mental health practitioner license is required

Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy
  • 30 hour - Level 1 and Level 2 hierarchical trainings
  • Leads to certification
  • 20 hours of post-training required for certification
  • ascribes to spiritual competencies and professional ethical codes
  • full mental health practitioner license required (LPC, LMFT, LCSW, etc)

This manual is a helpful guide for participants while they are receiving the SIP training with helpful references, commentary, slides, and checklists for practitioner use after certification.  Participants also refer to this manual when engaging in consultation after training has been completed.
