As a trainer, Dr. Gainer is known for an experiential and transformative teaching style that emphasizes reflection and meaning-making as pivotal to effective counseling. Her specializations include marriage, couple, and family systems, counselor skill development, Deliberate Practice Supervision, and group dynamics. At the Spirituality Summit, she brings this educator's lens to the intersection of faith and technology, guiding mental health professionals in the ethical use of artificial intelligence within spiritually integrated psychotherapy, a field she knows firsthand as a clinical strategist with Inner Peak AI, where she translates counseling science into responsible AI-enabled mental health tools.

Gainer's leadership in the counseling profession is extensive. She served six years on the American Counseling Association Governing Council and two terms as President of the National Employment Counseling Association. Her research explores systemic approaches, counseling skill development, supervision methodologies, and an integrated Adlerian-Gottman approach. At the center of her work is a simple belief: empathy is both a clinical skill and a leadership framework.
