Dr. Melody Thompson, LPC, MA, MBA, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, author of PK Syndrome: Do You Have
It?, and an ordained Elder at New Mercies Christian Church. With over 22 years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse field, she offers a compassionate, faith-based approach that promotes emotional healing, fosters meaningful connection, and encourages personal and spiritual growth, specializing in relationship restoration and Christian counseling.
Dr. Thompson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, her Master of Business Administration from University of Phoenix, and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Psychology from National University. She received her professional counseling license in Georgia at the associate level in May 2006 and achieved full licensure in June 2009.
Throughout her career, Dr. Thompson has worked in diverse mental health and substance abuse settings, including crisis lines, inpatient and outpatient facilities, Christian counseling centers, and community mental health organizations, providing assessments, crisis intervention, counseling, audits, reauthorizations, and education. She currently specializes in relationship counseling, Christian counseling, and emotional wellness, addressing issues such as marriage, infidelity, blended families, co-parenting, communication, and family conflict.
